Dear all:
We heard that these days an extremely cruel act happened in Bulgaria – the massacre of the dog Mima and the cutting of its four legs because of simple quarrel among neighbours. This is extremely cruel and is the pick of inhumane act towards the world. Such deeds should be penalized as these manifest a cruelty of man that lies beneath each inhumane and intolerant act.
In our country the deliberate murder of animals is seen as a crime!
Having in mind the scientifically proved fact that the violence to people and the violence to animals are directly related the foreseen measure to include the extreme cruelty as a penalty in the Bulgarian Penal Code is absolutely logical and more than necessary in a developed modern society.
The incrimination of cruelty has a strong preventive effect against crimes to individuals especially in vulnerable social groups.
In view of the above-mentioned reasons we kindly ask you to support the proposal, which stipulates measures incrimination of deliberate extreme cruelty to animals.
We believe strongly in the democratic principles of the Bulgarian parliament and that its members will protect the civil society interests by adding the name of Bulgaria to the list of European countries which are proud to have effective and modern Laws which regulate animal protection.
Sincerely:
